Really great brush that feels like butter when using it for lathering. My only reason for 4 stars is I wish the handle was longer like the smaller version. I find it really easy to get lather on my hands because this is such a lather monster!
Both the synthetic brush (first time user) and the tallow based shave soap are ALL you need. Didn’t even get the bowl. Just a simple set up that gets the job done in a timely manner. My shaves have been immaculate thanks to these products.

I had an expensive silver tip badger brush, thinking it had to be tbe be all of shaving brushes. Well the glue knot failed and the bristles came apart from the handle. I ordered the Stout brush and was amazed at the lather this guy puts down. I have never had a brush that is even close to lathering, as this brush does.
